I have your details from our moral commitment list for the Greymont fibre project where you took in an interest in our planned fibre roll-out to your suburb.

During our build we place a small grey termination box on the boundary wall of every premise within the suburb. It is from this grey box that you will be connected to the VUMA high-speed fibre network.

The Greymont fibre project will be commencing over the course of the next 3-4 weeks. I would therefore like to give you, one of VUMA’s moral commitment members, the opportunity to view your wall box position on your boundary wall. If you’d be interested in receiving this document, please respond to this article requesting your wallbox location.

A little more about the VUMA service

VUMA’s fibre optic network is a world-class network that provides you with an internet connection that guarantees its speed. It’s 1gbps line is proven to be up to 250x faster than your average broadband, but other speeds available include 4mbps, 20mbps, 50mbps, 100mbps and 1GBps. The best part is that the installation of VUMA’s fibre increases the value of the property, so you can’t go wrong.

Step 1: Place an order – I can do this for you, ensuring that once your area goes live, you’ll be one of the first to experience the benefits of fibre as a moral commitment member. Please note that if you do change your mind you will be able to cancel the order before the installation happens, however we are confident that you will love our service once you try it.

Step 2: Construction starts in Greymont – Vumatel uses a trenching method to bring our fibre to your suburb so there will be some interruption to your suburb, however we guarantee that we will reinstate all areas to their former glory. If you are unhappy with the reinstatement outside your property, please feel free to contact me with any further queries or concerns.

Step 3: The fibre guys roll in – the fibre teams differ from those of the construction phase. The fibre teams push the fibre through the ducts (conduits), which were laid during the civil construction phase.

Step 4: Greymont goes live – our schedulers will contact you once the area is live to book an installation at your property. Please note that you or your nominated representative (this person needs to be over the age of 18) must be present during the installation.

Step 5: The installation – our Installation technicians will then come through on the arranged date and reticulate the fibre from your wall box into your home. During the installation you will also be provided with a CPE device (A small white box with 8 ethernet ports) this acts as your switch to the fibre. You can plug your devices and router into the CPE to access the fibre network.

*The installation is at a once off cost of (R1 710.00), which you’ll only need to pay after the installation has been successfully completed. Please bear in mind that this is also available on a month-to-month payment plan.

Step 6: Choosing your service – when your Line has been successfully installed and you have the CPE device in your home, you can look at the next step which is picking an ISP (internet Service Provider). To activate a service simply plug your computer or laptop into the CPE device, go to www.vumatel.net and select your service provider. Once you have ordered a package, your Internet Service Providers will then provide you with your internet data.
