The city of Johannesburg to adopt a single Land Use Scheme

The City of Johannesburg is calling on all residents and businesses to participate in making inputs to the Single Land Use Scheme Draft.

The full draft of the City of Johannesburg Single Land Use Scheme is here.

Hopefully, soon we will have a summary of what this means to Greymont residents.

The official invite is:

In terms of section 24 (1) of the Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Act (SPLUMA) 16 of 2013, read with section 6 (1) of the City of Johannesburg Municipal Planning By-Law, 2016, all municipalities shall adopt and approve, after public consultation, a single Land Use Scheme for its entire jurisdiction within 5 years of the Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Act coming into operation. Residents are therefore encouraged to take an active part in this public participation process. All inputs to the Single Land Use Scheme Draft need to be submitted before 13 October 2017.

Public consultations will be convened in all of the City’s seven (7) Regions to afford Johannesburg residents the opportunity to give their inputs:

Note: we are Region B highlighted below.
