Smart Meters – Make sure you have the right settings so you are not incorrectly billed
As per or residents meeting last night, here is the information regarding smart meters.
Please check ALL the following:
- Does your outside meter serial number match the serial number on your bill?
- If your smart meter is bypassed and you would like it fixed in fear of a possible massive bill?
- Is your handheld devise working/do you have a handheld device?
Next how to set your handheld device to the correct power.
This is the home screen of the smart meter handheld device. Click on the curved arrow in the top righthand corner.
Next, click on the down arrow at the bottom right-hand corner and select settings.
Next, click on the down arrow at the bottom right-hand corner and select Power Indication.
If your Power indicator is NOT on 2.3kW please take a picture with a date as proof.
Now select 2.3kW.
This is the power and rate residential properties must be on.
Where to go when you have issues with your Smart Meter
For incorrect billing, faulty meters, faulty handheld devices or anything else you have a problem with regarding the smart meters. Go to the main service center at 40 Heronrnere Road, Reuven, Johannesburg (map below). Make sure to bring along all relevant documentation and reference numbers.
