Good Afternoon Greymonter!
The end of the year is nearly upon us and a very welcome break will be enjoyed by everyone, I am sure!
Shane is leaving for Cape Town early tomorrow morning and we thank him for the dedication and service he has given to our Community this last year. We wish him a well- earned rest and hope he is refreshed when he returns early next year.
I thank all Greymont residents who contributed most generously to Robert’s bonus. He is overwhelmed and now he is able to visit his family in Zimbabwe from 26 December and returning on 16 January. He asked me to convey his immense gratitude to everyone!
I will be helping Robert out until he leaves and we will be employing 2 young gentlemen to help in maintaining Greymont until Robert returns.
Please remember that this period is when criminals will also try and have a good festive season- but at the expense of our residents! If you are having parties please try and park inside your property or else employ a guard to look after your guests vehicles. It is also a matter of courtesy to inform your immediate neighbours if you are going to have loud music. We request that the volume be reduced after 10pm. If someone is making excessive noise after this time you are able to contact SCP for their assistance.
Those that want to let off fireworks (hopefully no one is Greymont!), these are the times and days that they are allowed:
- Christmas Eve – only between 7pm-10pm
- Christmas day – only between 7pm-10pm
- New Year’s eve – between 11pm – 1am (strictly)
- New Year’s day – only between 7pm-10pm
We also want to give a special mention to Val and Piet with their team at SCP for their protection and care of our residents, even if some of them are not members of SCP. You guys are truly and inspiration in being community centred. May you also experience peace and a truly meaningful festive season. Thank you!
The Pikitup services will continue as usual and please remember to report all street lights, potholes, water, sewerage leakages to me and I will try to get these attended to.
On behalf of the Greymont Residents Forum Executive committee I wish you and your loved ones a wonderful, joyful, peaceful and safe festive season and a better 2017 for each one of our residents. May we continue to work together in making Greymont the envy of many suburbs, and to live up to our slogan, “ A community that cares.”
(If you know a resident who is staying alone please try and invite them and share with them the festive spirit – it might make a difference. Perhaps if you know of someone, share this on our Whatsapp group and we will see what we can do?) Remember there are residents who have lost loved ones this last year and this period is particularly difficult for them.
Try and visit our Park this festive season – it will look great after our Contractor has finished cutting our Park which they started today. Stay well, stay safe!
