The Greymont park (previously known as the Carel Venter Park) is wrapped around by the Greymont suburb and has beautiful willow trees draping over the stream that feeds to Albert’s Farm.
Up until 2015 the park was named after Carel Venter a Mayor of Johannesburg for all of one year, from 1980-1981. Though his tenor was brief (as were most in that period) he did have a park named after him, that seems to be the only legacy found though. Hence why there was an initiative to change the name to the more appropriate “Greymont Park”.
