Annnnd we are famous… well on News24.com anyway.
Our Suburb’s online initiative was published yesterday evening on News24.com the most popular news site in South Africa. Here is the article:
Suburb Goes Online
Greymont is a small suburb in the North West of Gauteng.
Don’t be embarrassed if you have never heard of them, it’s ok if you haven’t, as that seems to be the common trend among people asked.
The Greymont community are trying to build up their area via local effort and utilising various online activities to build awareness as well as get the people involved in the community as well as working together towards the progress of the suburb.
Their main site is of course www.Greymont.co.za (owned and run by residents of the suburb) which is trying to build itself up as a central hub of news and events of the small suburb, from showing where the good bicycle routes are to which municipal entities are actually doing great jobs.
They even made a brand for themselves shown above the aesthetic of the logo is inspired by their wonderful nature rich suburb as they are situated around their beloved Carel Venter Park and Alberts Farm, also to give a “clean fresh and friendly feel”.
They have just started this initiative but already utilising all the top social media sites:
Greymont on Twitter @GreymontSuburb
Greymont on Facebook www.facebook.com/
Greymont on Google+ plus.google.com/+
It’s a young initiative that holds much promise, if you live in or near Greymont why don’t you click over and see what it’s all about, feel free to suggest any ideas. They are very open and aware they are trying something new.
